... Wild Doors by Myriam Pellicane ...

Sunday 20 November 2022 at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Myriam Pellicane will give voice to her art of storytelling in resonance with the exhibition "The Impossible Savage" to be discovered at the MEN, at the invitation of the Society of Friends of the Museum of Ethnography of Neuchâtel and the Association Paroles. A story chiseled for the occasion, from the imaginary worlds of the storyteller, already been to Neuchâtel in 2021 on the occasion of the Les Jobelins Festival.

“The storyteller is for me a robber of the highways, a poet, un musicien. " Thus Myriam Pellicane describes his art. Before surveying the incandescent territories of words, she rode with an army of kids and wild beasts in the wastelands, the cemeteries and bombed houses of Algeria. Arriving in France as a teenager, she creates for herself a court of aristocratic and gothic outcasts, of "magicians of all stripes". Kung-fu, mangas, witch anthropology and myths irrigate the veins of the creatures half women half beasts to which Myriam Pellicane gives life.

In the unprecedented exploration that it will offer us, decadent urban myths with apocalyptic accents and stories of the origins of the first peoples of Amazonia will collide, hatching the figures of a savage state in gestation in the depths, crossed by “the underground current of a spirit in harmony with its flesh”. With Myriam Pellicane, whose ultimate playground is the present moment, the wild spirit has not said its last word !
