... A vous la nuit, Lausanne (CEO) ...

avec Habib Dembelé
“This is a griot’s tale, inspired by a story from the Dafin ethic group from the south of Mali. Two inseparable friends, N’Golo and Zan share a painful secret, as tragic as it is macabre. The Bambara language rings out, poetic and sensual, amplified by the voice and bewitching sounds of a singer and a Kora mandings player. The actor and director Habib Dembélé takes possession of this traditional tale. With sparkling skill and dramatic density, he distills all the tiny details and embodies all the characters at once. This prophetic fable reveals the wisdom of the Dafin ethnic group in an atmosphere of enigmas and spells, of blood and madness. This impressive legend attacks the demands of traditional Malian society, in which social status is guaranteed only by the virility of a man. As an ardent defender of women’s rights, Habib Dembélé, a candidate in the presidential election of 2002 in Mali, succeeds in giving the traditional story a universal dimension.”
