“Before speaking, to say anything, the human being moves. These movements take place in a silence which precedes the word. In this silence gestures are born. From these gestures spring words.

Observe others who are speaking, to exchange stories, is a delight of choreographed movements. See how the gesture predicts what is said…or not said. Our actions reveal to us. There is never any betrayal.

And notice the different kinds of movements that we call gestures. There are actions, percussion, supports, atmospheres, evocations, indications, misinterpretations,…

This course aims to make us aware of our bodies in movement, and eliminate redundancies between gestures and words. We will explore the gestures as a whole and each “variety” in its particularity. We will see that silence reinforces the depth of tales, and in this silence the words resonate.

There will be work on the presence of the artist in front of the public and even in front of the story.

Chase away the natural and…. Everyone knows this proverb. We will stay in the natural’ of each person so as not to risk ‘dropping’ techniques but to give birth to them.

Bring short stories. This is an active and participatory course where you have to have something to say… and even to say again.”
